Baptist Carroll County Earns CMS Five-Star Rating

Baptist Carroll County

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has awarded Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County a five-star rating in both physician and nurse communication.

“This national recognition highlights our team’s commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care and delivering an exceptional experience for every patient,” said Kevin Redd, chief administrative officer for Baptist Carroll County.

CMS uses the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey — the national, standardized survey of hospital patients’ experience during a recent inpatient stay — for the ratings.

The communication star rating combines data from three HCAHPS survey questions and summarizes how well patients believe their providers explained things, listened carefully and treated them with courtesy and respect. The ratings are based on surveys completed between July 2024 and June 2025.
