The past two months have been extremely challenging for all of us, but we are weathering the storm and are stronger as a team as a result. Now, it’s time for us to refocus on the care and service our patients and communities expect from us. We have resumed elective procedures and routine clinic visits. And we’re encouraging people to come to our ERs if they need emergency care. COVID-19 will continue to be an important part of our work for the foreseeable future, but it won’t be our only focus. Many are calling this a “new normal.”
We’re still treating COVID patients, and we’re testing team members for the disease. So far, fewer than .001% of asymptomatic team members have tested positive, which says a lot about how safe our hospitals are and how well our front-line team is protecting themselves away from work. You have all done such a great job of managing the COVID pandemic that we can welcome patients back to our facilities for the routine care and procedures they need to stay healthy and maintain a great quality of life.
Because of this, I have decided to discontinue my videos for now and return to my normal schedule of communicating with you. Starting today, I’ll resume my weekly Leader letters, where I’ll update you on important issues and celebrate your many accomplishments. As always, I welcome your emails, tweets and LinkedIn messages, and I will respond to them as quickly as I can.
While the past few weeks have been tough, we have persevered because of our faith-centered mission, our trust in one another, and our adherence to our Baptist CARES 2.0 principles:
- Continuous Improvement of Results
- Alignment & Accountability
- Respect for Every Person
- Empathy and Compassion
- Service above Self
These principles help us thrive in the face of an unprecedented challenge. And they will guide us through our new normal and into a bright future.
As always, if you have any questions for me, email me, tweet me @jason_m_little or find me on LinkedIn.
