East Mississippi Electric Power Association (EMEPA), a nonprofit electric cooperative, recently donated $20,000 to the Cancer Patient Benevolence Fund at Baptist Cancer Center-Anderson. EMEPA raised the funds during its annual Shoot for a Cure event, a sporting clay competition that benefits cancer patients.

The Cancer Patient Benevolence Fund assists cancer patients with special needs not covered by insurance, such as transportation assistance, prostheses, medicine assistance, lymphedema supplies and durable medical equipment. Thanks to generous gifts from donors, patients received more than $75,000 in assistance from the Cancer Patient Benevolence Fund in 2023. Click here to make a donation to the fund.
