Baptist Women’s and Children’s Hospitals Earn Top Teaching Hospital Award

The Leapfrog Group awarded Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women and the Spence and Becky Wilson Baptist Children’s Hospital the 2025 Leapfrog Top Teaching Hospital Award.

The Leapfrog Top Teaching Hospital Awards are among the most competitive honors in U.S. health care. Out of thousands of hospitals evaluated, only a select few teaching hospitals meet Leapfrog’s rigorous standards for patient safety, reduced infection rates, surgical outcomes, maternity care and advanced technology.

“This recognition reflects the incredible dedication of our physicians, nurses, educators and staff who work every day to provide outstanding care and train the next generation of health care professionals,” said Allison Chase, CEO and administrator of Baptist Women’s Hospital and Baptist Children’s Hospital. “Earning the Leapfrog Top Teaching Hospital Award affirms our commitment to both patient safety and academic excellence.”

As specialty community hospitals, Baptist Women’s Hospital and Baptist Children’s Hospital play a critical role in shaping the future of medicine through their partnership with Baptist Health Sciences University and other affiliate medical schools. Earning the Leapfrog recognition reflects their ability to blend innovation and evidence-based care while nurturing a learning culture that reaches beyond the classroom to deliver compassionate, top-tier health care.

“It takes leadership, teamwork and absolute dedication to patients to achieve this award,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of Leapfrog.
