Baptist Anderson Regional Medical Center, Baptist Memorial Hospital-Booneville, Baptist Corporate office and Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County recently honored team members recognized by their peers for providing outstanding service. Baptist Anderson
Brittany Rash, pricing analyst in Supply Chain Operations, was selected as a Service First Champion at Baptist Anderson. Several of her fellow team members nominated her for her attention to detail, positive attitude and dedication. “Brittany has taken the lead on many different initiatives during the merger with Corporate Supply Chain. She has worked weekends and stayed long evenings to ensure the system was updated so inventory could continue to be replenished,” said her nominators.
Baptist Booneville
Candas Walker, registered nurse on the Medical-Surgical unit, won Service First Champion recognition for demonstrating exceptional courage and composure as she witnessed a serious accident. She left her vehicle to assist the driver after working a 12-hour shift. Candas checked on both drivers and realized that one of the drivers was missing. She found the missing driver who had collapsed after leaving his car. Candas had to navigate steep terrain and sustain minor injuries to aid the driver. “Her swift and selfless response exemplifies true heroism and ensured the young man received the critical care he needed in a moment of crisis,” said the nominator.
Corporate
Stephanie Johnson, Employee Health Services leave of absence coordinator, was selected as a Service First Champion for going above and beyond and demonstrating compassion when a team member experienced a medical issue. The nominator said, “I was frantic and overwhelmed, but her voice was very calming. There was no guesswork, no waiting for a call; she handled everything.” The nominator commended Stephanie for her listening skills, her ability to explain the next steps and her prompt and efficient handling of medical paperwork.
Baptist Union County
Paula Browning, head nurse on the Medical-Surgical unit, won Service First Champion recognition for going above and beyond and demonstrating compassion and patience when caring for a patient who would not eat or ask for assistance. Paula was nominated by a colleague who shared, “Not only did Paula keep a close check on the patient, but she also brought food and clothing to the patient. She goes above and beyond daily, and it truly makes a difference in the lives of our patients and everyone around her.”
