Baptist DeSoto Choir Performs for Patients and Team Members

On Tuesday, April 15, the employee worship choir at Baptist DeSoto, made up of a physician, nurses, managers and frontline staff, shared in song and prayer in the hospital lobby, gathering patients and fellow team members in the name of the Lord to honor both the Passover and Easter holiday.

The choir performed three moving selections: “Goodness of God,” “Worthy of It All” and “In Christ Alone.”

“It is rare to be able to worship where you work. One of our missions here is to serve. We get to serve this community, keeping Christ at the forefront,” said Dr. David Conner, Emergency department medical director and keyboardist for the choir.

Baptist Union City Hosts “Raising of the Cross” Easter Celebration

Community members and staff gathered in the main dining hall of Baptist Union City on Wednesday, April 2, for a spring concert featuring a medley of praise and worship songs performed by Voices of Proclamation from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee.

The concert was part of the fourth annual “Raising of the Cross” Easter celebration, featuring three 15-foot crosses erected in the courtyard to give guests and team members an opportunity to reflect on the sacrificial love of Jesus Christ. Attendees enjoyed sweet treats provided by the Women on Mission Group of Second Baptist Church in Union City.

Chaplain Michael Dennison, director of pastoral care for Baptist Union City, said, “We would like to extend our appreciation to Union University for allowing us this great blessing. It’s a joy to join with this prestigious university whose mission is to provide a Christ-centered education that promotes excellence and character development in service to Church and society.”
