Baptist Memorial Hospital-Booneville is sponsoring the 2025 Sealant Day event hosted at Northeast Mississippi Community College (NEMCC) on Tuesday, March 18 and Thursday, March 20. The event works with the dental hygiene program at NEMCC to offer dental sealants to second-grade students who receive free and reduced-price lunches and who may not normally have access to these services in the Booneville, Prentiss County and Baldwyn school districts.
Baptist Booneville has sponsored Sealant Day each year since the first event in 2010. Dental sealants help prevent tooth decay and, in 2024, the hospital’s sponsorship of the sealant event enabled 175 students in three school districts to receive dental sealants.
The event is coordinated by the Northeast Regional Chapter of the Mississippi Oral Health Community Alliance, a consortium of concerned people who want to protect and promote oral health for all Mississippians.
