Baptist Memorial Health Care’s Vice President and Chief Marketing and Communications Officer Ayoka Pond danced to “Daddy Cool” by Boney M. at the second annual “Dancing With the Stars Memphis” fundraiser, hosted by the YMCA of Memphis and the Mid-South on June 4.
“I had a great time participating in the YMCA’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’ event; it was my pleasure to support such a worthy organization,” Pond said. “All the participants were supportive and encouraging, my partner was great to work with and our choreographer did a wonderful job of creating the dance and guiding us as we learned it. I was also so grateful to the Baptist Memorial team members who came out to support me.”
Community members gathered at Agricenter International for the sold-out event, presented by Leaders Credit Union. The evening was full of wonderful performances from dance couples and powerful stories in support of the YMCA’s youth and family programs in the Mid-South.
“We’re so proud of Ayoka’s participation in this competition to support a mission-driven organization like the YMCA,” said Kim Alexander, system director of Public Relations and Internal Communications for Baptist Memorial. “Ayoka’s talent is immense, and watching her performance with colleagues was a highlight of the evening!”
