NEA Baptist broke ground on a new primary care clinic in Manila, Arkansas, on Monday, Sept. 15. The clinic will be located on Hwy 78/AR-118 near the new site for Manila Nursing Home and will offer primary care and walk-in services, along with space to expand in the future.

Stonebridge Construction is the construction company for NEA Baptist Manila Clinic, which is slated to open in summer 2026. It will be NEA Baptist’s third clinic in Mississippi County, Arkansas. Other clinics are located in Blytheville and Osceola.

“With continued industry growth in Mississippi County, Manila is a central location for increasing access to health care,” said Melanie Edens, chief operating officer of NEA Baptist. “With higher rates of diabetes, heart disease, hypertension and obesity in this region, there is a greater need for primary and specialty medical care. This clinic will complement our existing Mississippi County locations and help us increase access to care closer to home and work for our community.”

Dr. Jared Burks, a native of Manila, will serve patients in the new clinic space.

“I’m excited and thankful to be back in my hometown and help care for the people who mean so much to me,” said Burks. “Manila is a great community, and it has been exciting to watch it grow over the years. Now we will have greater access to much needed health care.”
