“Tickled Pink” Game With Ole Miss Women’s Basketball
Ole Miss recognized team members from Baptist Cancer Center in Oxford and Jerrica Willis, a breast cancer survivor, during an on-court presentation at the ninth annual “Tickled Pink” women’s basketball game on Wednesday, Feb. 12. Jerrica served as an honorary Ole Miss coach for the game.
Olive Branch Chamber of Commerce Luncheon
Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto was the presenting sponsor of the Olive Branch Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Feb. 12. Brian Hogan, chief executive officer and administrator for the hospital, shared news of two recent program expansions at the hospital. Dr. Daniel Hogue, Graduate Medical Education program director, offered information about the physician workforce in Mississippi and details about residency programs at Baptist DeSoto. Dr. Shan Khan, inpatient palliative medicine physician, explained the elements of palliative care, hospice care and advanced care planning. He also emphasized the importance of knowing your loved one’s wishes.
WTVA Senior Health Fair
Baptist Memorial Hospital-Booneville, Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi and Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County were gold sponsors of the WTVA Senior Health Fair on Tuesday, Feb. 25 in Tupelo, Mississippi. Team members from the hospitals and Baptist Cancer Center greeted attendees at their booths and offered information about services and blood pressure checks. The hospitals also collaborated to provide complimentary goodie bags at the main registration tables.
