Physicians, advanced practice providers, registered nurses and emergency medical services and allied health professionals attended the 2026 Baptist Cardiac and Stroke Symposium, “Brain Waves to Heart Beats.” Presented by Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto and Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis, the symposium was held on Feb. 27 on Baptist Memphis’ campus in Garrett Auditorium.
“This collaborative effort provided valuable insight and expertise to help attendees gain a deeper understanding of advancements in cardiac and stroke care,” said Kim Hallum Stewart, system administrator for Baptist’s Neurosciences and Cardiovascular service lines.
Physicians presented information on risk stratification and guideline-directed therapy for pulmonary hypertension, evidence-based strategies for managing cardio-cerebral infarction, patient selection criteria for structural heart interventions, emerging technologies for intraparenchymal hemorrhage management and advanced diagnostic and therapeutic modalities for cardiac amyloidosis.
