Hayes’ nominator mentioned her willingness to step in and provide support whenever needed, including planning parties or organizing birthday or sympathy cards. Hayes recently facilitated the creation and implementation of a new content management process, helping the team meet metadata requirements, clean up redundancies, improve users’ ability to find content, ensure compliance with naming conventions and standards, increase template flexibility and more. “She is exceptionally thorough and diligent, with a keen focus on following processes, even when the transformation is challenging. You can depend on Pam to stay on course in executing requirements to generate long-term benefits,” said the nominator.

Two Baptist team members nominated Amber Hall, registered nurse in the Medical Oncology Clinic and Infusion Center, for Service First Champion for going above and beyond for patients and other team members. Hall was praised for bringing joy to patients and helping with coordinating any work-related parties and activities. “She truly raises the happiness and enjoyment level of our department. Everyone loves Amber. She is constantly making staff and patients smile,” said one nominator. Another nominator recognized Hall for going the extra mile so a colleague could work her shift: “The staff member needed childcare to work on a day that Amber was off. Amber dropped her own children off at school, drove to the other staff member’s house and provided childcare for that staff member so she could work that day.”

Brandy Workman, a licensed practical nurse in the Operating Room, became a Service First Champion for her compassion and dedication. The nominator praised Workman for volunteering to assist a patient’s wife when her husband couldn’t be revived. She had mobility issues, and Workman provided a wheelchair, ensured safe transportation to the waiting room and provided emotional support. “Brandy remained with the patient’s wife after the news was delivered that no family ever wants to hear. Brandy’s kindhearted and caring actions will never be forgotten,” said the nominator.

Jennifer Tomlinson, customer service coordinator in the Medical Oncology Clinic and Infusion Center, received Service First Champion recognition for going above and beyond to help a colleague’s father who was scheduled for a diagnostic scan but entered the wrong area on campus. Tomlinson not only offered to park his car, but she also transported him by wheelchair to Admissions to ensure he received care. “Jennifer went above and beyond to make sure my dad was taken care of that day because he was very confused and weak. She will never know how appreciative I am of her helping him,” said the nominator.

The mother, who had just received a devastating diagnosis after surgery, was Allen’s patient. Allen found the daughter in the hospital and escorted her to her mother’s room.
