Baptist Collierville Offers New Robotic Surgical System

Baptist Memorial Hospital-Collierville has the Mid-South’s only single-port robotic surgical system, which was recently approved by the Food and Drug Administration for minimally invasive urologic surgical procedures. To date, Dr. Adam Stewart with the Conrad Pearson Clinic has performed around 70 procedures using the surgical system at Baptist Collierville.

“We are delighted to be the first in the area to offer a less invasive surgical option for patients using single-port robotic surgery,” said Lindsay Stencel, administrator and CEO of Baptist Collierville.

The single-port robotic surgical system allows surgeons to make a single one-inch incision instead of four. It also provides surgeons with a magnified view of the surgical area, as well as greater precision and control compared to traditional surgery. Single-port procedures result in fewer scars, reduced downtime and a shortened healing process — all while limiting complications.
