Ron Welch, staff pharmacist in Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle’s Inpatient Pharmacy department, won the Clinical Practice Award at the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) Annual Meeting in Minneapolis. Kardarius Felton, pharmacy resident with Baptist Golden Triangle, presented a scientific poster at the ACCP annual meeting.
The Clinical Practice Award recognizes excellence in cardiovascular pharmacy clinical practice. Welch is one of only a handful of pharmacists in Mississippi to be triple board-certified in cardiology, infectious diseases and pharmacotherapy.
Welch and Dr. Navid Dara, internal medicine physician with Baptist Golden Triangle, coauthored Felton’s poster presentation titled “Suspected Linezolid-Induced Lactic Acidosis.”
