Above and Beyond Gears Up in September

Our annual Above and Beyond Giving Campaign kicks off on Tuesday, Sept. 1. For more than 40 years, Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation has been extending our mission beyond providing exceptional health care by offering resources and support services that make a difference in our communities. I’m excited to share with you how we have most recently supported our patients, team members and others in the communities we serve.

In 2025, Baptist Foundation funded Camp Good Grief for children and provided 6,100 free counseling sessions and more than 200 free group sessions at Baptist Centers for Good Grief. Patients at Baptist Reynolds Hospice House received nearly $200,000 in assistance, supporting more than 1,000 hospice days. Baptist Foundation also funded 242 scholarships awarded to Baptist Health Sciences University students in 2025.

With your help, Baptist Foundation gave financial assistance to more than 60 Baptist Cancer Center patients and provided 2,000 rides for patients needing transportation assistance for cancer treatment. Community members and patients also had access to seven ongoing cancer survivorship support classes and cancer support groups.

Through the Patient Assistance Fund, Baptist Foundation supplied financial assistance for medication, home medical devices, transportation and other necessities to nearly 600 Baptist Memorial patients. Baptist Foundation also makes it possible to help our Baptist Memorial team members when they need it most. Last year alone, Baptist Foundation supported 143 team members through the Employee Emergency Assistance Fund.

Baptist Foundation also supports our mission of healing, preaching and teaching in many other ways, including providing funding for hospital and community wellness initiatives, equipment for hospitals and assistance for the homeless through our free clinic, Baptist Operation Outreach.

This assistance for the communities we serve has been possible because of the financial support given to Baptist Foundation. Your support can help ensure these wonderful things keep happening. Please consider visiting bmhgiving.org/above to contribute to the Above and Beyond campaign by Wednesday, Sept. 30.

You can direct your donation to the causes that mean the most to you by selecting the fund or entity you wish to support. You may also choose how you want to give — a one-time payroll deduction, a recurring payroll deduction or a PTO donation.

Please note NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital and Mississippi Baptist Medical Center will host their own foundation campaigns, and on-site team members will have an opportunity to support them at that time.

Each donation, no matter the amount, allows Baptist Memorial to continue our mission of caring. Thank you for helping to improve the lives of people in the Mid-South.
