Samuel “Dub” Oliver, president of Union University, will be the featured speaker for the Rev. Jimmy Terry Preaching Series on Thursday, Sept. 17 at noon in Garrett Auditorium. The auditorium is located at 6027 Walnut Grove Road on Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis’ campus.
In 2014, Oliver became the 16th president of Union University, located in Jackson, Tennessee, with two additional campuses in Memphis and Nashville. He previously served as president of East Texas Baptist University.
Oliver holds a Master of Science in educational psychology and a Doctor of Philosophy in educational administration from Texas A&M University. He also has a Bachelor of Science in education from Baylor University.
Oliver and his wife Susie have one daughter and three grandchildren.
