Patients, family members or colleagues nominated nurses at Baptist Anderson Regional Medical Center, Baptist Memorial Hospital-Booneville, Baptist Memorial Hospital-Collierville and Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. Baptist Anderson
Reaghan Davis, registered nurse on the Medical-Surgical unit, was nominated for her dedication and kindness by a patient’s family member. The nominator said, “From the very first day, we felt the special relationship that Reaghan and my mother developed. Reaghan would even come in early before her shift to check on her, just to see how she was doing.” The family member also praised Reaghan’s “joyful spirit.”
Baptist Booneville
Nora Houston, registered nurse in Senior Care, won the DAISY Award for her compassion. A patient nominated Nora and shared, “I have cancer and had decided not to live before coming here. Nurse Nora changed that for me.” The patient said that Nora gave her hope and inspiration to continue living and fighting her cancer.
Baptist Collierville
Brenda White, registered nurse on the Medical-Surgical unit, was selected as a DAISY Award winner after being nominated by a patient for her kindness, warmth and compassion. The patient stated, “She took the time to listen to my concerns, ensuring that I felt heard and understood. I truly believe that individuals like Nurse Brenda are the heart and soul of health care. Her passion for her work and unwavering dedication to her patients are qualities that deserve recognition.”
Mississippi Baptist Medical Center
Drew Burkett, registered nurse in the Emergency department, won the DAISY Award for his kindness after being nominated by a patient. The patient praised Drew for being “gracious and humble,” with a great bedside manner, even during a busy time in the Emergency department. She also appreciated Drew praying with her.
