Baptist DeSoto Sleep Disorders Center Celebrates 15 Years of Accreditation

The American Academy of Sleep Medicine is recognizing Baptist DeSoto Sleep Disorders Center for maintaining 15 consecutive years of accreditation. This achievement demonstrates the center’s commitment to providing high-quality care for people who have sleep problems.

“The American Academy of Sleep Medicine congratulates Baptist DeSoto Sleep Disorders Center on meeting the rigorous standards required to maintain accreditation for sleep services,” said AASM President Dr. Anita V. Shelgikar. “AASM accreditation is the gold standard for sleep care, reflecting a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered services that help people sleep better and live healthier lives.”

Baptist DeSoto Sleep Disorders Center, located on the campus of Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto, is directed by Dr. Istvan D. Wollak. The center provides diagnostic and therapeutic care for patients with problems related to sleep and alertness, including obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy.
