Baptist DeSoto Offers Robotic-assisted Bronchoscopy

Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto recently acquired a new robotic-assisted platform for minimally invasive biopsy in the lung.

The hospital is proud to announce it is now using the Ion endoluminal system for robotic-assisted bronchoscopy. The system helps address a challenging aspect of lung biopsy by enabling physicians to obtain tissue samples from deep within the lung using a thin, maneuverable catheter that allows for greater stability compared to manual techniques.

“We are thrilled to have trained physicians and respiratory therapists to provide this robotic-assisted bronchoscopy at Baptist DeSoto,” said Brian Hogan, Baptist DeSoto CEO and administrator.
