Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi directors and managers recently attended an off-site Leadership Day Retreat at Camp Lake Stephens in Oxford, Mississippi. Leaders enjoyed a day of fellowship, reflection and strategic planning for the upcoming year.
The event included group breakouts for analyzing tactics for fiscal year 2025 and a development session focused on “How to Sustain Excellence.” The retreat balanced fun and work. Team members enjoyed many laughs as they tried to guess who their colleagues were by looking at baby pictures posted throughout the venue.
The highlight of the retreat was guest speaker Jim Ainsworth, a former Baptist Memorial Health Care vice president. He spoke on lessons learned from a career at Baptist and compared health care to the ministry and act of serving others. He credited his success to always putting God first in everything he did.
“Hosting our leaders outside of the hospital to discuss the needs of our team and patients will allow us to be a stronger and more aligned leadership group in the new fiscal year,” said Brian Welton, CEO and administrator of Baptist North Mississippi. “Jim Ainsworth’s kind and humble demeanor and words of advice on what it means to be a leader were an inspiration to the team.”
Baptist North Mississippi is currently planning its spring retreat for leaders.
