Baptist Anderson Regional Medical Center and Baptist Anderson Regional Medical Center-South recently honored non-nursing team members who work in supportive roles or provide direct patient care for their exceptional skills and daily compassion. The BEE and the BEE of the Year awards recognize team members who consistently go above and beyond to make a difference for patients, visitors and coworkers.

Curt Evins, Materials Management supervisor, was recently named BEE of the Year. “Curt is a team player,” said the team member who nominated Evins. “He goes above and beyond to make sure supplies are delivered and patients and visitors are assisted when he is on his route. I saw Curt out on a delivery, and he noticed a patient and family who needed assistance. Curt pulled his cart to the side and made sure they got on the right elevator to reach the GI Lab. He always volunteers to bring things to our department if he knows we need them right away.”

Jennifer Grace, patient care assistant on the Swing Bed unit, won the BEE Award after a patient’s family member nominated her. “Jennifer went far above any expectations to care for mom and our family. She prayed with us and for us, always speaking kindly and encouraging us,” said the nominator. “Mom was transferred to the Tom C. Maynor Rehabilitation Center. Even though that is not the floor Jennifer works on, she visited my mom and assured us she is praying for her. You just don’t get any better than that.”
Justice Wesley, patient care assistant on the Swing Bed unit, was presented with the BEE Award after a patient’s family member nominated her. “Justice’s dedication to patient care goes far beyond standard expectations. Her bubbly personality and warm, compassionate nature brought comfort not only to my mother but to our entire family during a challenging time,” said the nominator. “She is more than a caregiver. She is a beacon of hope and encouragement.”
