Baptist Corporate building team member Angela Buchanan, operational coordinator for Quality, recently was named third quarter Service First Champion.
Praised for her genuine concern for others, several of her co-workers contributed to her nomination, sharing stories about Angela’s smile and kind words. Her nominator said Angela routinely checks on ill team members and their families, and calls to make sure co-workers arrive safely and have what they need when they travel. If someone suffers a loss, she is the first to organize food, etc. to support the team member and family.
“When Angela reaches out to co-workers, her caring attitude truly shines,” her nominator said. “It is evident by the reaction of those she comes in contact with, that they appreciate her caring attitude and her concern. She takes on whatever needs to be done and believes that everything that needs to be accomplished is her job. She goes above and beyond daily, not just for deadlines or specific projects—that’s just who she is!”
One co-worker calls Angela “one of the most caring people” he knows, and others say she “lights everything up” when she walks in their area.
“Angela has a gift of making others feel welcome, comfortable and at home,” said her nominator. “She is a shining example of Service First as she lives and breathes this philosophy every day.”
