Two months ago, Baptist team members were asked to help areas of Mississippi that suffered extensive damage from a recent tornado. Many answered the call, raising more than $4,000 to help the disaster relief effort. The Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation matched team members’ contributions.
Baptist Golden Triangle Administrator and CEO Paul Cade, and the hospital’s human resources director, Bob McCallister, presented representatives from the Mississippi Hospital Association Care Fund and the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund with checks totaling $4,717 each. Six Baptist Golden Triangle team members whose property suffered storm damage received a total of $2,540 to help them recover from the tornadoes.
“Baptist employees have a long and proud tradition of stepping forward in times of disaster to help those in need. We take the mission of our Baptist system very seriously, which is the three-fold ministry of Christ – healing, preaching and teaching,’” Cade said. “I am very proud of our employees for giving to help those hit hardest by the storms.”
