Noon to 1 p.m.
Classrooms A, B, and C at Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women
Tobacco usage remains the single largest preventable cause of disease and premature death in the United States, yet more than 45 million Americans still smoke cigarettes. As of 2013, there were also 12.4 million cigar smokers in the U.S., 8.8 smokeless tobacco users, and 2.3 million who smoke tobacco in pipes.
Are e-cigarettes safer? What side effects do they have? Is it cheaper than cigarettes? If you smoke or have a loved one who smokes, please come to this informative discussion.
Our facilitator, Dr. John Bridges, is the pharmacy director at Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women and has been a pharmacist at Baptist for 37 years. He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a Bachelor of Science in secondary education in biology and chemistry. He has a certification in pain management and is a Certified Pain Educator. Dr. Bridges has provided educational seminars in a variety of settings, including cardiac rehab and diabetes management.
