Our speaker, Sara Estabrook, is a registered dietitian who is also a board-certified specialist in Oncology Nutrition. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from Illinois State University and completed an internship with Wesley Medical Center in Kansas. She earned her Master of Science degree in Nutrition from the University of Texas at Austin. Ms. Estabrook is also certified in Weight Management by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She serves as the oncology nutritionist with Baptist Cancer Center.
Ms. Estabrook will answer the question, “Does Sugar Feed Cancer” based on current research about the effects of simple sugars on cancer. She will also review what type of diet and lifestyle habits best prevent the onset and recurrence of several types of cancer and chronic diseases. While no specific food or diet can cure cancer, there is definitely a strong body of research to support which type of diet best promotes prevention and recovery.
