Funded through a grant from the state of Tennessee, the program teaches participants how to eat healthy and incorporate physical activity into daily life. Groups meet once a week for 16 weeks, then once a month for six months. It can help committed participants lose 5 to 7 percent of their body weight and reduce their risk for developing Type 2 diabetes.
