A State of Tennessee grant has allowed Baptist Rehabilitation-Germantown to revamp its diabetes support group. Now, the group is open to all Tennessee residents who want to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
During the one-hour sessions, participants receive a light lunch and learn from health experts. The classes are offered 10 months of the year.
In the most recent class, Randy Kostiuk, director of wellness programs at the Church Health Center, discussed how healthy living can help manage diabetes. He also showed attendees how they can exercise whether they have the ability to stand or sit.
