A collaboration between Baptist Women’s Hospital and Corporate Community Relations, this free event in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month is tailored for breast cancer survivors and patients and their families, including members of Baptist’s Breast Cancer Support Group. Baptist team members are invited to attend.
When Spence learned she had triple negative breast cancer, she was a career woman with a busy law practice, teenage daughter, husband, three stepsons and chronically ill mother. She will share her journey during an hour-long motivational talk.
“Being diagnosed with cancer caught me completely off guard. An organizer by nature, finding myself in this unknown world was unsettling. I needed to know what to expect so I could figure out how to handle it,” says Spence. “That’s what I am giving women and their loved ones: an almost daily guide to what is coming and how it might impact them – not in a sterile, clinical way, but through an honest and vulnerable firsthand account of what I experienced and how I made it through.”
