Evaluating the BestHealth Employee Wellness Program

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote to you about the early success of our BestHealth employee wellness program. I am so glad that thousands of you have engaged in the program and are reaping the benefits of a healthier lifestyle. Now, the BestHealth team and I also want to ensure the program is making a significant, positive impact on your health by studying our results.

To do that, members of our Baptist Clinical Research Institute (BCRI) team are conducting the BestHealth Pilot Study. They would like to engage with Baptist team members who have a MyChart account, are on Baptist’s health plan, and are patients at one of our Baptist Medical Group clinics in the Memphis area.

To join the study, you must consent to allow the BCRI team to access your health record and biometric screening results to assess changes in your health while you participate in the BestHealth program. Your health information will remain confidential—it will not be shared with any other department, your supervisor or anyone else. The Institutional Review Board has provided approval for this study’s protocol to ensure the research team follows proper procedures throughout the study to protect your rights and welfare.

Your privacy – and the confidentiality of your personal health information – is very important to me. Contributing your information will help you and other team members who are pursuing a healthier lifestyle through BestHealth. Participation is completely optional. Together we can demonstrate to the world what we already know ourselves: that we are developing a great wellness program that makes a real difference in the well-being of our team members.
