On Saturday, Feb. 6 and Sunday, Feb. 7, jewelry maker Kendra Scott is donating 20% of purchases to Camp Good Grief, a free bereavement camp for children who recently lost loved ones. Anyone interested in supporting Camp Good Grief in this way can go to kendrascott.com and enter the code “giveback-0VAU” at checkout.
Baptist was the first heath care system in the area to offer a bereavement camp for children when it established Camp Good Grief in 1999. Since then, the camp program has expanded to include Teen Camp Good Grief, and hundreds of children and teens have reaped the benefits. Camp Good Grief’s goal is to provide a safe environment for children and teens to explore and express their feelings related to the death of a loved one and learn to thrive in a world without that special person.
