Dr. Richard S. Hipps, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, will be the featured speaker at the August Rev. Jimmy Terry Preaching Series event, which will be held on Thursday, Aug. 16 at 12 p.m. at the Garrett Auditorium.
Dr. Hipps and his wife, Patricia, were born on the same day, met in high school, married in 1974, and have been in full-time ministry since 1975. This includes three pastorates in North Carolina and 11 years as missionaries to Brazil. The couple came to Trinity Baptist Church in 2002.
Dr. Hipps is a graduate of Brevard College, Mars Hills College, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Vanderbilt University. Dr. and Mrs. Hipps have three children and three great-grandchildren who live in Atlanta.
