TennesseeCIO awarded Tom Barnett, Baptist’s chief information and digital officer, the Enterprise Award at the 2025 ORBIE Awards, which recognize outstanding chief information officers (CIOs) and C-suite technology leaders who drive business transformation. Tom attended the event, which was held on Friday, May 2 at Omni Nashville.
“I am honored to accept this award on behalf of Baptist Technology Services (BTS) team members,” said Tom. “This award is an acknowledgement and validation of the tremendous value and hard work that each member of the BTS team brings to Baptist Memorial Health Care every day, and I am thrilled to represent them.”
Since 1998, the ORBIE Awards have recognized excellence in technology leadership. The finalists and winners are chosen during an independent peer-review process led by prior ORBIE recipients. Nominees are evaluated based on leadership and management effectiveness, business value created by technology innovation and engagement in industry and community endeavors.
“Great technology executives understand how connections drive transformation,” said Al Smith, TennesseeCIO chair. “The ORBIE Awards recognize CIOs and chief information security officers who leverage relationships to drive innovation, solve complex challenges and shape the future of Tennessee.”
