Tom Barnett Earns Finalist Recognition in Tennessee CIO ORBIE Awards

Tennessee CIO honored Tom Barnett, vice president and chief information and digital officer at Baptist, as a finalist in the Enterprise category for its 2023 ORBIE Awards, which recognize outstanding chief information officers and senior IT executives. Barnett attended the event, which was held on May 19 at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel.

“The best thing that I can do as a leader, for the team as well as the company, is to talk less and listen more. They have tremendous ideas and a lot of creativity. As a leader, I can help create that space for the team to bring those ideas forward and incubate them into fruition,” said Barnett in a video Tennessee CIO produced for the event.

For more than 20 years, the Tennessee CIO ORBIE Awards have recognized excellence in technology leadership. The finalists and winners are chosen during an independent peer review process led by prior ORBIE recipients. Nominees are evaluated based on leadership and management effectiveness, business value created by technology innovation, and engagement in industry and community endeavors.
