Steve Chilcoat kneels in prayer by stretcher

"Steve's job was to perform a CT and he could have done that and gone on about his way, but he went above and beyond."

Steve Chilcoat, a CT tech with the ER radiology group, was selected Service First Champion for the first quarter at Baptist Golden Triangle.

An anxious patient (and team member) arrived in the ER with complications from back surgery and was very anxious. Before her CT scan, Steve asked if he could pray for her. “Steve knelt down next to my stretcher and began to pray.” On two additional visits to the ER and when the patient returned to work, Steve made a point of checking on her.

“Steve’s job was to perform a CT and he could have done that and gone on about his way, but he went above and beyond. He took time to talk, explain, reassure, pray for and follow up on me,” his co-worker said.

Congratulations, Steve!
