Second Presbyterian senior pastor to speak at next preaching series event

George Robertson, senior pastor of Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis, will be the featured speaker at the September Rev. Jimmy Terry Preaching Series event, which will be held on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 12 p.m. at the Garrett Auditorium.

In addition to leading his church, Rev. Robertson is a council member for The Gospel Coalition. Before coming to Memphis, he served as the senior pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Augusta, Ga; pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church in St. Louis; and as a lecturer/adjunct professor at Covenant Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Jackie, have four children.

After earning his baccalaureate degree from Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Ga, Rev. Robertson earned a Master in Divinity and Master in Theology degrees from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in historical and theological studies from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia.
