Reach for the Stars Scholarship Offers Full Tuition to Baptist Nursing Students

The Reach for the Stars (RFTS) Nursing Scholarship Program is an exciting opportunity for Baptist Memorial team members who are pursuing a nursing career. Please keep reading to learn more about eligibility requirements and the application process.

The scholarship covers the cost of in-state tuition, books, educational software and other educational expenses not covered by tuition. Each student will also receive a one-time payment of $1,000 to cover the cost of other school-related expenses.

Interested applicants will participate in an interview process, and the RFTS scholarship committee will make final selections.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be employed with Baptist Memorial full-time for one year or 12 months
  • Must be in good standing with no current disciplinary action
  • Must maintain employment while completing a nursing program, working a minimum of 16 hours each pay period
  • Willing to commit to employment with Baptist for three years upon completion of nursing degree
  • Accepted to or enrolled full-time in an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at an accredited nursing program
  • Must have completed all prerequisites for the program
  • Acceptance and/or enrollment at a public college/university or Baptist Health Sciences University (other private or for-profit colleges are not accepted)
  • Must be eligible for in-state tuition (for any state in which the applicant resides)

* Limited scholarships available for registered nurse to BSN applicants

Application Process

  • Submit a 500-word personal statement of why applicant should be awarded the scholarship
  • Submit three recommendation letters from professional sources working within Baptist; one must be from the applicant’s direct supervisor or manager
  • Participate in a panel interview
  • Complete and submit application by 5 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026
