The first year of the Rev. Jimmy Terry Preaching Series surpassed all expectations, reaching more than 100,000 people in person and online. Every month since last August, a speaker has come to Garrett Auditorium on the Baptist Memphis campus to deliver a 30-minute, Gospel-based sermon. The events were broadcast to every hospital in the Baptist system and shared on Baptist’s Facebook page.
“I am so thrilled that The Rev. Jimmy Terry Preaching Series has been such a success,” said Rev. Anthony Burdick, Baptist’s system director of pastoral care. “I think Rev. Terry would be honored and proud that, through this series, we are continuing his life’s work—spreading the Good News about Jesus Christ.”
The next preaching series event will be held on Thursday, Aug. 16 from 12-1 pm, when Dr. Richard Hipps, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church in Cordova, Tennessee, will deliver the message.
