The American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN) recently recognized Phil Ayers, Clinical Pharmacy Services manager at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center, with the Distinguished Nutrition Support Pharmacist Service Award.
“It is my hope for the future that nutrition will be recognized as a medical specialty, and we will see it become a larger portion of the curriculum for medicine, nursing and pharmacy,” Ayers said.
Each year, ASPEN recognizes members who have demonstrated exceptional expertise in clinical practice, education and advocacy. Winners’ accomplishments provide a positive example for health care professionals.
