The mother of former Baptist Women’s Hospital neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) patient Gentry Alm celebrated his second birthday by making thoughtful donations to Baptist Women’s Hospital. Mandy, Gentry’s mom, donated 40 bags with snacks, notepads, before and after pictures of Gentry and inspirational words for NICU parents.
Gentry was born at approximately 25 weeks. He stayed in the NICU for four months and had several surgeries before he was discharged home. Gentry also experienced the typical respiratory issues associated with premature births.
In addition to the parent bags, Mandy donated three bouncers, an infant swing, books, sensory toys, blankets, clothing and snacks for the nurses. Instead of gifts for his birthday, Mandy asked friends and family to make donations to the NICU.
