BestHealth is kicking off Program Year Two this month by introducing the following new and exciting programs!
Teaching Kitchen
Baptist and Morrison’s will partner to teach pop-up healthy and easy cooking classes at all Baptist hospitals. Team members will learn and experience the importance of cooking using all the colors of the rainbow—red tomatoes, green spinach, orange sweet potatoes, blueberries and/or yellow squash.

New Wellbeing Specialist
A new wellbeing specialist will join our team to serve the Jackson, Mississippi area, including the critical access hospitals. All five wellbeing specialists have master’s degrees in nutrition, exercise physiology or health promotion, and they will continue to teach classes and coach team members one-on-one.
Tobacco Cessation
Want to quit using tobacco? BestHealth wellbeing specialists will offer one-on-one tobacco cessation classes.
Interactive Nutrition Newsletter
Wellbeing specialists offer their best nutrition tips in this monthly email. They will provide shopping lists, recipe ideas and ways to stay on track when eating in a restaurant. Look in your inbox the first of each month.
BestHealth BestFit
BestHealth will continue to partner with fitness facilities in the Memphis metro area to offer free classes to Baptist team members. Last year, BestHealth partnered with several YMCAs, Shred415, Orange Theory Fitness, PureBarre and CycleBar, to name a few. We are working to offer pop-up classes systemwide. Team members receive an entry into a gift card drawing for every class they attend.
GoHealthy Classes
More than 700 team members participated in the 13-week program that kicked off in January 2019. Participants attended classes in person or via WebEx. Combined, the participants lost a whopping 4,105 pounds! The next round of classes will start in January 2020, so be on the lookout for information early next year. The classes include weekly, private weigh-ins, and team members also learn about portion control, calorie density and how to stay on track during holidays and weekends.
