NEA Baptist Unveils New Mobile Health Unit

NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital recently unveiled a new $1.6 million mobile health unit, which will provide care to underinsured and uninsured patients in underserved communities around Northeast Arkansas. The mobile health unit is equipped with technology to perform breast cancer screenings, community health screenings, sports physicals, wellness and prevention visits, and more.

The mobile health unit is the first of its kind in Northeast Arkansas with the combination of mammography, lab equipment and an exam space.

“This mobile health unit has been something we’ve envisioned for the community, and we are extremely grateful for the generosity of the Chris Fowler family to provide the funding for this unit,” said Sam Lynd, CEO and administrator of NEA Baptist. “The flexibility provided by this MHU will allow us to fill a host of needs in surrounding communities where many patients encounter barriers to accessing health care. We would also like to thank the NEA Baptist Auxiliary and Local Tire & Wheel for providing financial support toward the unit’s operating expenses.”
