National Rural Health Association Recognizes Baptist Attala as a Top Critical Access Hospital for Quality

The National Rural Health Association (NRHA) recently named Baptist Memorial Hospital-Attala among the top 20 critical access hospitals for Best Practice in Quality.

“Our medical team at Baptist Attala holds themselves to high standards, and being recognized among the top 20 critical access hospitals for Best Practice in Quality is a tremendous honor for our staff,” said Mac Flynt, CEO and administrator of Baptist Attala. “I applaud our medical team for the exceptional care they provide to patients every day.”

A total of 40 best practice designations were given (20 for quality and 20 for patient perspective or patient satisfaction) to the highest- ranking critical access hospitals in each category. To receive the quality designation, hospitals must achieve success on hospital performance across rural-relevant process of care measures.

Each hospital’s performance across these indicators is aggregated and ranked against rural peers nationally. The Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals are recognized for the outstanding quality they deliver to their patients.

NRHA also recognizes the Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) from a list of the Top 100 CAHs as determined by The Chartis Center for Rural Health. The 20 overall winners and 40 best practice recipients (in the quality and patient satisfaction categories) have achieved success based on the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX, which considers eight indices of performance: inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspective, cost, charge and finance.

“NRHA is committed to ensuring our members have the best information to manage their hospitals,” said Brock Slabach, NRHA chief operations officer. “We’re pleased to recognize the accomplishments of these rural hospitals.”
