Nora Mclnerny, author and host of American Public Media Podcast “Terrible, Thanks for Asking,” spoke to a crowd of 120 in Garrett Auditorium as part of the cityCURRENT Signature Speaker Series Reception.
Hosted by Angela Hamblen, executive director of the Baptist Centers for Good Grief, Nora spoke about her life and her experiences with grief, which included two miscarriages and the loss of her husband and her father. You can see part of her talk here.
cityCURRENT is a catalyst – funded by Mid-South businesses – focused on creating and sharing moments and media to inspire. With its partners, cityCURRENT hosts more than 150 free community events each year and produce an array of positive-oriented media. Among those events is the Signature Speaker Series, which brings national guest speakers to Memphis.
Baptist’s Centers for Good Grief – located in Memphis; Collierville, Tennessee; and Jonesboro, Arkansas – provide safe environments for grieving children, teens and adults to explore and express their feelings after the death of a loved one and learn to thrive in a world without that special person.
