Mississippi Pharmacy Society Recognizes Baptist Pharmacists

The Mississippi Society of Health System Pharmacists (MSHP) recently held its summer 2024 meeting. Baptist team members served as speakers, received awards and were installed as MSHP officers. MSHP honored Bobby Martin, pharmacist at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, as MSHP Health-System Pharmacist of the Year for 2024, and LaNitta McKenzie, pharmacy technician at Baptist Golden Triangle, as MSHP Health-System Technician of the Year.

MSHP installed the following Baptist pharmacists as officers:

  • MSHP President LeAnn Scott, clinical pharmacy specialist and residency program director at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center (MBMC)
  • MSHP Present-Elect Lauren Breite, clinical pharmacy specialist at MBMC

MSHP Immediate Past-President Caroline Bobinger and MSHP Secretary Jessica Everitt, both clinical pharmacy specialists at MBMC, serve on the MSHP Executive Committee. At the meeting, Jessica presented, “Review of Gram-Negative Infections: The Story of the Ever-Changing Villains and the Hopeful Heroes.”

Taylor Mardis, clinical pharmacist at MBMC, presented, “GLP-1 Receptor Agonists in Obesity,” and Anastasia Jenkins, clinical pharmacy specialist at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi, presented, “Pharmacy Practice Advancement in Mississippi: Forward Together.”
