Memphis Breast Cancer Consortium Recognizes Jennifer Coleman for Advocacy

The Memphis Breast Cancer Consortium (MBCC) honored Jennifer Coleman, outpatient marketing coordinator for Baptist Women’s Health Center, with the 2023 MBCC Hall of Fame Award in recognition of outstanding advocacy and patient navigation in the Memphis community. The award was presented during the MBCC Live! Breast Cancer Conference: Waiting to Exhale from Screening to Survivorship, held on Saturday, May 13 at The Guest House at Graceland.

Dr. Rebecca Bittenbinder, breast surgeon with Baptist Cancer Center, spoke in the program segment, “Let’s Talk Survivorship,” along with cancer survivor Lenora Boyd and moderator and Fox 13 meteorologist Brittani DuBose. The segment covered what to expect as you thrive and survive cancer.

Jennifer is a native Memphian, three-time breast cancer survivor and patient advocate with a passion for educating women about breast cancer and helping women in need. She focuses on the breast health needs in Memphis communities by helping to provide access to grant funds and mobile mammogram events.

“I am truly honored to receive this award, and I want all breast cancer patients to have access to the best care possible like I have been blessed to have,” Jennifer shared.

Jennifer’s work is at the core of Baptist’s mission of keeping with the three-fold ministry of Christ  – Healing, Preaching and Teaching. She understands the barriers to care women may carry with them, including medical trauma and challenging family dynamics and history. Her compassion and approachable manner allow her to touch more lives by sharing her incredible story with others.
