The Leapfrog Group and Money.com recently named Mississippi Baptist Medical Center as one of the top 101 hospitals for bariatric surgery in the nation. MBMC is the only facility in Mississippi to receive this designation.
This is the first year for the award, and Leapfrog and Money reviewed more than 2,200 hospitals for the honor. To make the list, hospitals had to meet Leapfrog’s bariatric surgery and safe surgery checklist standards. Hospitals also had to have a Leapfrog safety grade of B or higher and a standardized infection ratio of less than 1 for central line-associated bloodstream infections and catheter-associated urinary tract infections to be considered for the recognition.
