Presented by Baptist Memorial Health Care, the 15th annual Kosten Foundation Kick It 5K attracted hundreds of participants to Shelby Farms Park in Memphis, Tennessee, on Sunday, Oct. 26. The event benefits the Kosten Foundation, which provides support for pancreatic cancer patients and funding for research. With donations and sponsorships, the total amount raised was around $150,000.
Ron Olsen was master of ceremonies for the event, and One & Only BBQ provided food for attendees. Associate Rabbi Leah Sternberg with Temple Israel conducted the survivor ceremony, which recognized 55 pancreatic cancer survivors.
The event raised funds for grants for research programs at Baptist Cancer Center-Memphis, University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and NYU Langone.
