Joining Baptist’s Race for the Cure team could mean the difference between life and death for women with little to no health insurance. Every year the Susan G. Komen Foundation gives several Baptist Memorial hospitals nearly $200,000. The hospitals use that money to provide grant-funded mammograms at no charge to qualified uninsured or under-insured women in their communities. This year alone, hospital team members have diagnosed 8 women with cancer between April and August, through this program.
The grants are possible thanks to those who support the Susan G. Komen Memphis-MidSouth Race for the Cure. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 9 a.m. at Autozone Park, and the Baptist Cancer Center is one of the event sponsors. All team members – runners and non-runners alike – are encouraged to participate. For more information or to register, please click on this link: http://bpt.st/2IE8rNo
