James Young to Speak at November Preaching Series Event

James Young, senior pastor of Grace Evangelical Church in Memphis, will be the featured speaker for the Rev. Jimmy Terry Preaching Series on Thursday, Nov. 16, at noon in Garrett Auditorium, 6027 Walnut Grove Road, on the Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis campus.

A Memphis native, Pastor Young graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1970 and earned a doctoral degree in divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi, in 1975.

After graduating, Pastor Young and his wife Suzy started a church in Ocala, Florida. They welcomed three daughters while living in Florida, and returned to Memphis in 1985. Pastor Young served at Central Church before starting Grace Evangelical Church in 1991. He and his wife have 10 grandchildren.
