An enthusiastic crowd of more than 350 attendees gathered on Thursday, June 1, at Shelby Farms Park in Memphis for Baptist Cancer Center’s inaugural Rhythm of Life: Cancer Survivor Celebration and Awareness Day. The event, which observes National Cancer Survivor Month in June, celebrated cancer survivors, emphasized the importance of early detection and raised awareness about cancer prevention strategies.
“The Rhythm of Life: Cancer Survivor Celebration and Awareness Day served as a testament to the remarkable progress made in cancer treatment and highlighted the strength and resilience of survivors and those currently battling the disease,” said Kirsty-Rhe Tiffner, Baptist Cancer Center marketing director. “The atmosphere was filled with joy and celebration as participants engaged in activities that fostered a sense of unity, inspiration and hope.”
Rhythm of Life featured educational booths staffed by experts from Baptist Cancer Center and event sponsors, who provided information about the importance of regular cancer screenings and highlighted the latest advancements in cancer treatments. The event offered attendees the opportunity to gain support and encouragement from connecting with other survivors and health care professionals.
Participants also enjoyed an evening of family fun with live music, food trucks, a photo booth and games.
Baptist Cancer Center is excited about serving the community with this new annual event.
“We hope to offer support to those affected by cancer and inspire others to take proactive measures toward prevention and early detection,” said Tiffner.
